A Russian-Indian summit is scheduled to take place on October 15 in Goa, the same day as the 2016 BRICS summit, Indian Ambassador to Russia Pankaj Saran told Sputnik.
According to Saran, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to meet at the Russian-Indian summit.
The 8th BRICS Summit will be held after the meeting of the Russian and Indian leaders on October 15-16.
BRICS is an association of five developing economies — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — which comprise over one third of the world’s population. The five nations have a combined nominal GDP equivalent to approximately 20 percent of gross world product.
