Talks are underway between Russia and China on the localization of production of equipment for the energy and mining industries in Russia, co-chairman of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on energy cooperation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters.
“We also exchanged views on delivery of equipment, localization of equipment in Russia for power grid networks, for the mining industries and electrically-powered equipment,” he said.
“There are ideas related to harmonizing the standards on the production and supply of equipment wherever this is possible,” Dvorkovich noted.
The 12th meeting of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on energy cooperation has begun in Beijing on Monday. It is chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli. Among the main topics on the agenda is the bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas area and nuclear energy as well as in other areas of energy cooperation. A protocol is due to be signed after the meeting.
