Production of Mercedes Benz automobiles will start in the Moscow Region in 2019, Russian Industry Ministry said on Tuesday.

“The term of the special investment contract is nine years, with production start scheduled in 2019,” the ministry said.

German automaker Daimler will invest 15 bln rubles ($260.4 mln) into Mercedes plant construction in the Moscow Region:

“According to the contract, the investor guarantees investing of at least 15 bln rubles [$260.4 mln] into the project,” the ministry said.
