The inflow of foreign investment in Kazakhstan’s economy increased 4.4-fold in nine months of 2016 year-on-year, Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev said Tuesday.
“Net inflow of foreign investment amounted to $5.7 bln in the reporting period, which is a 4.4-fold increase versus the same period of last year, which was $1.3 bln,” he said.
The total amount of investment “increased by 4.1% to 5.1 trillion tenge ($15.3 bln)” in January-September of this year, the official added.
GDP growth
According to the minister, Kazakhstan’s economy grew 0.4% in January-September 2016,.
“According to preliminary estimates, the economic growth rates accelerated from 0.3% to 0.4% in January-August of this year,” he said.
