Beijing, Nov 17 (Prensa Latina) China expressed today in Manila, Philippines, its wish to boost comprehensive development of its strategic association with Canada and step up high-level exchanges with that country.
The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi asked this Tuesday, on the Philippine capital to his Canadian counterpart, Stephane Dion, to expand practical cooperation and bring mutual benefit results to fruition.
Previously Chinese President Xi Jinping, who arrived in the city today to attend the XXIII meeting of leaders of the economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, (APEC), met with the new Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau in the recently concluded summit of the G-20 that was held in the Turkish city of Antalya.
On that occasion Xi called on both countries to build a long-term healthy and stable and strategic association, based on mutual respect and cooperation for mutual benefit.
The important consensus reached by leaders of both territories, said Chinese Foreign Minister, has traced out the route for the future of bilateral relations.
Dion, for his part, emphasized that Trudeau is committed to boosting bilateral ties with China since he took over the post of Prime Minister early this month. He also welcomed investment by Chinese companies in his nation.
