An affiliate of the Russian holding Renova owned by Victor Vekselberg may invest into the Hyperloop project, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies told TASS on Monday.
“There are no Russian investors so far but Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is holding negotiations with Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum [a subsidiary of Switzerland’s Oerlikon, where 43% of shares are owned by Renova] about tangible investments. Speaking about intangible investments, six Oerlikon employees and a number of independent Russian specialists are already working in interests of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies project,” the company said.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has already gathered over $100 mln of investments.
The Russian Direct Investment Fund has increased donations to the Hyperloop project in the latest round of the call for investment, Chief Executive of the Fund Kirill Dmitriev said earlier. The Fund’s strategic partner in the Middle East – Dubai’s port operator DP World – is also taking part in the project, Dmitriev added.
