BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) — Bankers and entrepreneurs in China are increasingly confident in the country’s economic outlook for the coming months, survey results showed on Thursday.
The bankers’ confidence index surged to 71.3 percent in the fourth quarter from 61 percent in the third quarter. The entrepreneurs confidence index rose to 65.9 percent in the fourth quarter from 62.8 percent in the previous quarter.
The results are according to two separate surveys by the People’s Bank of China, or the central bank.
Among the bankers surveyed, 69.8 percent believe China’s macro-economy is now operating at a normal level, up 12.2 percentage points from the previous quarter. More than 71 percent of bankers expect the country’s monetary policy to remain consistent in the first quarter of 2014, according to the survey results.
