MOSCOW, April 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Imports to Russia from countries outside the former Soviet Union fell to $59.1 billion in the first quarter, a 4.4% decrease year-on-year, a Federal Customs Service report said.
In March 2014, imports made up $22.6 billion, up 14% from February 2014.
Imports of machine building products grew by 22.4% to $11.5 billion, chemical industry product by 8% to $3.6 billion, and foodstuffs and food material by 5.9% to $3.2 billion, while the imports of textiles and footwear fell by 10.3% to $1.3 billion.
In March 2014, imports from countries outside the former Soviet Union fell 3.2% year on year. In March 2013, Russia imported $23.3 billion worth of goods.
